How to add stocks and ETFs to your portfolio

Learn how to add stocks and ETFs to track your equity investments.

How to Add a Stock

  1. Click the Add Asset button on your dashboard
  2. Select Stocks & ETFs as the asset type
  3. Search for your stock by name or ticker symbol (e.g., "AAPL" for Apple)
  4. Enter the number of shares you own
  5. Enter your average purchase price (optional but recommended for accurate gains tracking)
  6. Click Save

Finding the Right Ticker

When searching for stocks:

  • US Stocks: Use the standard ticker (AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL)
  • International Stocks: Include the exchange suffix (e.g., "BMW.DE" for BMW on German exchange)
  • ETFs: Search by ETF name or ticker (SPY, VTI, VOO)

Tracking Multiple Purchases

If you've bought the same stock multiple times at different prices:

  1. You can enter your average cost basis as the purchase price
  2. Or add multiple entries for the same stock to track individual lots

Supported Exchanges

  • NYSE, NASDAQ (US)

Price Updates

Stock prices are updated automatically. You don't need to manually update values.
